About the Role We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to help us build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines that support our genealogy data products. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative data team where they can utilize their technical expertise to drive business growth and innovation. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to process large genealogy data sets. - Analyze source data and collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements, challenge assumptions, and propose improvements. - Develop and maintain RESTful APIs to expose data and services to other teams and systems. - Troubleshoot issues and provide support to internal teams that depend on our data services. - Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of our tools, workflows, and infrastructure. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: - A strong background in Python programming language. - Hands-on experience or familiarity with Airflow. - Experience working with Docker. - Proficiency in Git and standard version control workflows. - Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs. - Comfort working with data formats like CSV, JSON, and understanding how data flows across systems.
