Job ID: 55407 Location: Columbia Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job Description This position serves as the Nurse Planner within a dynamic, entrepreneurial interprofessional continuing education environment. The role requires a passion for education, attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to fostering professional growth among nurses and healthcare professionals. As a faculty member at Sinclair School of Nursing (SSON), this community outreach, interprofessional faculty position is housed within SSON but primarily functions as a nursing expert on the Continuing Education for Health Professions (CEHP) team. CEHP, part of MU Extension and created by merging MU Nursing Outreach and Continuing Medical Education, aims to deliver relevant interdisciplinary healthcare education. CEHP is a division of the Office of Health Outreach, Policy, and Education (HOPE), which collaborates with units like Rural Scholars Program, Center for Health Policy, and Missouri Telehealth Network to enhance community health and align with the University's land-grant mission. This is a non-tenure track, clinical appointment in Continuing Education for Health Professions, full-time, for twelve months, reporting to the Director of Continuing Education for Health Professions. The candidate must meet or will work towards meeting the criteria for a Primary Nurse Planner/Nurse Planner as defined by the Midwest Multistate Division of the American Nurses' Credentialing Center (ANCC). The position is based in Columbia, MO, with potential for hybrid work and minimal travel (<5%) for off-site events. Responsibilities Integrate evidence-based principles of andragogy in nursing professional development, utilizing diverse teaching methods to enhance transfer of learning and improve healthcare outcomes. Stay updated on healthcare changes and their implications for nursing education and health outcomes. Ensure educational activities comply with ANCC/Midwest Multi-State Division accreditation standards, including planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation. Develop programs suitable for interprofessional audiences, understanding accreditation criteria for various healthcare professionals. Utilize technology effectively to facilitate face-to-face and virtual learning environments. Maintain accurate documentation and assist in accreditation applications, reports, and related administrative tasks. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with practicing professionals, educators, subject matter experts, organizational partners, and university departments. Represent the Sinclair School of Nursing’s educational outreach mission across the state. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Registered Nurse licensed in Missouri. Master's degree in nursing. At least 5 years of nursing and/or nursing education experience. Experience in community and public health. Experience in continuing education or nursing education.
