This role is essential in supporting the processing of health insurance claims and collections , particularly within the personal injury space. You will work closely with attorneys, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation and efficient follow-up on claims. Responsibilities: Contact and follow up with insurance companies, attorneys, and law offices to obtain and provide relevant documentation. Process health insurance claims, monitor their status, and assist with collections of outstanding payments. Review, extract, and organize medical records and legal documents chronologically and clearly. Maintain up-to-date electronic records and data entry systems. Ensure the confidentiality and security of all patient, legal, and insurance-related information. Track claim deadlines and proactively escalate any delays or issues. Assist in preparing documents for legal proceedings or settlement negotiations. Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with internal procedures and external regulations. Requirements: Previous experience in a legal assistant, paralegal, medical scribe, or legal secretary role. Solid understanding of medical terminology and healthcare documentation. Experience with health insurance claims processing and collections. Prior work with personal injury law is highly preferred. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to chronologically sort and manage large volumes of documents efficiently. Familiarity with insurance policies, billing codes, and claims documentation. Must own a Microsoft computer (Windows OS) and be able to work from home reliably.
