The Medical and Scientific Affairs Associate , is responsible for supporting the delivery of Medical Affairs (MA) excellence within the regional R&D organization by supporting product maintenance and stewardship through effective deployment of MA resources and Medical Compliance/Governance standards across HALEON business. This role collaborates extensively with various business functions that rely on the R&D Regional Medical Affairs function to drive and implement medical affairs brand/product strategies and deliverables, including Category Medical Affairs, LATAM R&D Lead, LATAM regulatory leads, Global R&D Category Leads, Regional Commercial Leads, GM’s, Global Safety, Legal, Corporate Compliance and other functions The impact that this role will have upon business success is critical. Application of medical technical expertise and keen insight will increase the scientific impact of Haleon business activities. Key Responsibilities Support implementation of Medical Affairs strategic plans to help achieve country and brand objectives within agreed timelines Support claims development: Based on clinical data and published literature, propose new claims in collaboration with the respective therapeutic category (for Power Brands), with a special focus on local stars and drive profit brands. Develop and approve new claim substantiations; review and approve new claim objects, and review and approve promotional materials when applicable according to the Promotional Content approval materials SOPs. Support defence of HALEON products from challenges from competitors and provide medical substantiation to challenge competitors’ claims. Support development of medical documentation in collaboration with Regulatory Affairs for Board of Health submissions. Support and/or provide internal and external medical education. Deliver local product risk-benefit assessment when required (PIRCs, PBRERs; etc) following global and local SOPs guidance. Key Local interface on behalf of Haleon with external organizations including Health Authorities, Healthcare Organizations, External Experts Support the implementation of process improvement to enhance organizational efficiency and continuous improvement in everyday activities that benefit the business. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: 1-3 years of experience in the Medical Affairs industry, operating in a commercial environment, preferably in the Pharma, OTC and/or Nutritional space. 1+ year of experience within clinical development, operations, project management or other functions. University General Medicine degree is required. Advanced level English proficiency. Expertise in standard MS Office Software Ability to stay up-to-date on the latest health and safety regulations and best practices Ability to act decisively to support the executional aspects of Medical Affairs with limited direction Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability and eagerness to challenge status quo; make decisions with emerging or incomplete data; and operate successfully in an empowered organization Strong influencing skills Stakeholder management, planning skills, influence and impact at senior level.
