International Materials Group is one of the largest independent bulk raw commodity traders in the world. Established in 1986, the company and its team of over 160 employees located in 11 global offices market over 38 million metric tons per year of commodities in more than 75 countries. The Trade Operations Specialist will be a key member of the recently established and fast-growing Base Metals unit. This individual will play a role in the growth of this new vertical. International Materials Group is looking for a professional with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong organizational skills and the ability to not only execute but enhance the unit’s processes and procedures. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Purchase and Sales Order Management: Generate and issue purchase and sales orders in alignment with the commercial terms negotiated, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Position Matching: Align purchases with corresponding sales, verifying that all contractual terms and conditions are accurately mirrored. Physical Position Management and Reporting: Track and report on the business’s physical position, ensuring accurate visibility of long and short cargoes on land and in transit. Contract Generation: Create and issue purchase and sales contracts within the ERP system, ensuring all terms reflect the agreed-upon trade details. Contract Execution & Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of purchase and sales contracts, ensuring timely shipments, proper documentation, and accurate pricing updates within the system. Booking Management: Work with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customers to secure container bookings and manage vessel schedules, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Documentation: Receive, process, prepare and ensure timely submission and modification of all required shipping documents, such as bills of lading, certificates of origin, weight tickets, commercial invoices and other paperwork. Monitor Loading and Unloading: Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to oversee the accurate loading and unloading of containers, ensuring proper weight and volume compliance. Internal Billing Process: Collaborate with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely payments to commercial and logistical counterparts. Verify freight rates, demurrage charges, and other logistics-related expenses for correct billing. Track and Trace: Maintain real-time tracking of containers throughout their journey, providing updates to internal and external stakeholders, as necessary. Manage other logistical tasks to support the business functions, such as: DHL shipments, samples management, invoices, documents delivery/tracking. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics or operations in a trading or shipping company. Containerized logistics and handling experience. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle unexpected changes, and make decisions under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Word. Meticulous, detail oriented with exceptional organization skills. Ability to complete tasks independently while collaborating with a team. OTHER DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of Base Metals: Familiarity with handling and transporting metals, especially scrap, is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
