Regional Medical Director Role This leadership position is responsible for driving transformation, strategic planning, and thought leader engagement within the medical team. The role involves overseeing clinical research and overall medical support activities, ensuring alignment with company strategies and compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: - Influencing strategy and investment across portfolio, industry, and healthcare leadership - Responsible for medical transformation in line with therapeutic area needs and organizational model - Building key capabilities to deliver the portfolio and attracting top talent Career Development and Performance Management - Performance management, career development plans - Maximizing each individual direct report's career potential and maximizing value to the organization - Presenting direct reports' activities, desires, capabilities, and achievements to business area medical management and leaders Oversight of Clinical Planning, Budgeting, and Execution - Responsible for affiliate/geographic evaluation and input into clinical planning and contribution to clinical trials - Communicating research needs to global development teams and ensuring Phase 3, 3b, and 4 clinical programs meet local/regional customer needs Scientific and Technical Expertise - Role model and functional member of research, submission, registration, and commercialization support teams - Understanding and keeping updated with relevant scientific data Business/Customer Support (Pre and Post Launch) - Ensuring medical team is trained and compliant with local, global, and company standards regarding interactions with customers - Ensuring adequate scientific support for marketing and sales activities Regulatory/Submission Responsibilities - Ensuring clinical data meets necessary regulatory standards - Providing support for global registrations, labeling, and label modifications Overall Administrative Responsibilities - Reviewing major business documents requiring director-level approval - Serving as a member of the medical leadership team and contributing to business area management process and policy development Position Requirements: - Scientific background - Experience in clinical research or related field - Understanding of health systems environment - Leadership and management experience - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Strong organizational skills - Ability to travel Lilly values diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
