You'll be key to managing and improving the core Python code that powers our machine learning models and data analysis. You'll work closely with our experienced data scientists, helping them build and run their projects by making sure our codebase is top-notch. Preferably, you should be based in a US time zone (Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific).What You'll DoWrite, test, and improve the Python code for machine learning modelsTake care of our main Python codebase: keep it organized, fix bugs, make it faster, and add new featuresHelp run our code in the cloud (we use Google Cloud Platform - GCP). This includes using tools like Cloud Build (to prepare code) and Cloud Run (to run services)Analyze, prepare, and clean data for our data science projects and modelsWrite clear notes and documentation about the code you create and the systems you manageFind and fix technical problems in your code and debug them when running on cloud servicesHelp make our data science tools and systems more efficient and reliableWho You AreYou have 1-3 years of experience writing custom Python code professionally, especially for projects involving data or machine learningYou are proficient at Python: You understand object-oriented programming, write code that can be tested, and know how to use important libraries like and write your own librariesYou are comfortable using Git for managing code with a teamYou have some experience with cloud services (GCP is a big plus) and know a bit about running applications in the cloud (maybe with Docker or tools like Cloud Run)You have good SQL skills for working with large amounts of dataYou understand the basic ideas of machine learningYou are an excellent problem-solver, pay attention to small details, and can find and fix issues in codeYou can communicate well in English, especially about technical subjectsAdvanced English proficiency (B2-C1).
