This role involves ensuring the seamless operation of network systems, identifying and addressing system issues promptly, and collaborating with various teams to optimize IT systems performance. The NOC Agent acts as the first line of defense in the IT operations management process, working to prevent downtime and mitigate the impact of any disruptions. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS This positionreports to the IT Service Manager KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IT systems Monitoring: Continuously monitor network and server performance using specialized tools and software to ensure optimal uptime and functionality Incident Management: Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues promptly. Escalate complex problems to higher-level support teams as necessary Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance to prevent potential systems issues and ensure network reliability Documentation: Maintain accurate records of IT incidents, changes, and performance metrics. Prepare detailed incident reports and summaries and contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) assessments following incidents Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, such as IT support, network engineers, and system administrators, to address network-related concerns and implement improvements Cyber Security: Monitor Cyber-security systems for potential threats and vulnerabilities. Assist in implementing security protocols and measures to protect the network Customer Support: Provide technical support and guidance to users experiencing systems issues. Communicate effectively to ensure users are informed of resolution progress Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies. Suggest improvements to enhance systems performance and efficiency Here’s the tasks on a typical day of a NOC Agent: Perform network and server monitoring Maintain runbooks and procedures Perform RCA Report on network performance Resolve network issues Monitor cybersecurity systems Assist in implementing security protocols QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. EXPERIENCE Relevant certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+, are advantageous Previous experience in a network operations or IT support role is highly desirable.
