About the Opportunity We're seeking a skilled Director of Engineering for our client, a global design and software development company headquartered in San Francisco. Our client operates a fully remote hub engaging talent from diverse regions, including Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Over the past 16 years, they have successfully delivered over 300 digital products for leading startups, Fortune 500 companies, private equity firms, and global enterprises. Key Responsibilities - Collaborate with clients to design and deliver innovative digital solutions that drive business growth. - Lead the design and implementation of scalable architectures that align with business goals and technical standards. - Provide expert guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering continuous learning and technical excellence. - Partner cross-functionally with UX/UI Designers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to ensure seamless delivery. - Promote and ensure the application of engineering best practices and clear communication across all teams. - Implement robust solutions with a focus on performance, scalability, and security. - Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies; integrate cutting-edge approaches into development workflows. - Define and maintain coding standards, and drive the technical vision aligned with company objectives. Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, including leadership in senior-level roles. - Proficiency in backend, frontend, and cloud technologies (tech-agnostic mindset). - Strong ability to scope and estimate project requirements. - Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts to non-technical audiences. - Strong understanding of software engineering principles and design/architectural patterns. - Familiarity with server and network infrastructure and experience working with cloud platforms. - Proven experience in building distributed systems, tools, and services. - Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in balancing trade-offs in large-scale systems. - Effective time management, decision-making, and organizational abilities. - A client-centric and consultative mindset.
