Job Description We are seeking an experienced Software Platform Engineering Manager to lead our engineering teams in optimizing Ubuntu for the latest hardware platforms. You will be responsible for overseeing commercial engagements, participating as a technical lead on complex customer projects, and implementing disciplined engineering processes. This is a globally remote role with opportunities for travel and collaboration with colleagues worldwide. Your day-to-day tasks will include leading and developing a team of engineers, overseeing project milestones, and contributing to code reviews and technical documentation. Required Skills and Qualifications - Exceptional Academic Track Record: A strong academic background from high school and university, with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM. - Technical Expertise: Fluency in C, C++, and Python, experience with Linux and operational systems software, and Debian/Ubuntu or other distro packaging. - Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading software engineering teams, with excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, result-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a remote team environment.
