Job Summary A Purchasing Professional is required to ensure the efficient operation of a manufacturing plant by supporting purchasing activities according to assigned categories and company procedures. Key Responsibilities: - Maintaining an updated database of suppliers and general purchasing information. - Processing purchase orders for assigned categories in accordance with company procedure. - Ensuring accurate information on fulfillment and delivery planning is maintained in the company database. - Identifying and resolving discrepancies in applicable company IT systems and databases (EAM, SIC, BAAN) to promote a streamlined procurement process. - Responding to internal customer and supplier inquiries regarding order status, changes, and cancellations. - Communicating with suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve issues such as shortages, missed or late deliveries. - Preparing and distributing purchase orders to suppliers and originating departments. - Locating and evaluating potential suppliers through research and interviews to gather product information. - Providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. - Negotiating with suppliers as needed. Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in International Business, Finance, or Industrial Engineering. - A minimum of 3 years of experience supporting purchasing activities. - Residency in Colombia. - C1 level of English proficiency. - U.S. tourist visa.
