**Responsibilities**: British Columbia is the Skeena Watershed aboriginal organization that focuses on fisheries management, science, and conservation. Skeena hosts the Business Development Team (BDT), a team of fisheries and aquaculture advisors that work with Indigenous communities and Commercial Fishing Enterprises in all aspects of business development and access to resources from the Pacific Integrated Commercial Fishing Initiative (PICFI). On their behalf, we are recruiting an Indigenous Fisheries Business Development Advisor who will provide comprehensive and hands-on advice in the development and management of fisheries opportunities and projects. What qualities are needed in this role? In this role, you will report to the BDT Team Lead and be responsible for providing business and technical support services to Indigenous communities in British Columbia under the PICFI. Your professional background includes work in economic development, community development, management consulting or fisheries, where you've honed solid project management skills. Experience working within the Indigenous fisheries sector would be a definite asset. You have knowledge of Indigenous governance, government policy processes, and an in-depth understanding of the issues and challenges in this sector. Personally, you possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills coupled with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability. Frequent travel within British Columbia will be required and you will work remotely from a home office. Salary range is $87,500 - $105,000, depending on experience. Benefits
