Job Description Our client is looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our client’s high-impact Data Engineering team, with a special focus on finance-driven projects. You’ll play a key role in building and optimizing data pipelines, financial reporting systems, and database architectures that support automated billing, real-time analytics, and data-informed financial operations. In this role, you’ll bridge deep technical skills with a solid understanding of financial workflows—helping streamline processes, reduce errors, and accelerate close cycles. Specific Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain finance-focused ETL pipelines using tools like Databricks. Improve data quality, report latency, and pipeline performance through optimization. Implement data validation and cleansing processes. Develop integrations with third-party APIs. Architect and maintain cloud-based Data Warehouse solutions, including designing star/snowflake schemas, fact/dimension tables, and slowly changing dimensions (SCDs). Develop and maintain Power BI data models, reports, and dashboards. Partner with finance, operations, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Advanced SQL and Python for ETL development (familiarity with PySpark preferred). Proficiency in Power BI (DAX) or similar BI tool. Experience with relational database design and development. Expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and data lake/warehouse architectures. Familiarity with Excel. Familiarity with RESTful APIs (authentication, pagination, rate limits). Strong communication skills to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders. Problem-solving mindset to troubleshoot data discrepancies. Preferred: Understanding of Financial data sets and processes.
