About the Role – What will you do? This is a unique opportunity for a skilled and motivated professional to join Pathways International’s dynamic LATAM team as a Project Officer. Reporting to the Colombia Country Lead, the successful candidate will support the advancement of some of the organization’s most strategic initiatives in the region. Pathways International’s work in Colombia focuses on the development of coordinated, inclusive, and sustainable protection and labour mobility pathways to countries across the region and globally. Through close collaboration with national and local governments, UN agencies, civil society, donor governments, the private sector, and destination countries, the Colombia team is helping to build the policy and operational infrastructure required to strengthen/expand these pathways.These efforts aim to both address local labour market needs and expand access to international mobility opportunities, enhancing overall impact and sustainability. The Project Officer will play a key role in driving this work forward. In close coordination with the Country Lead, the Officer will support the design and implementation of Colombia’s mobility pathway infrastructure by contributing to rigorous research and analysis, developing high-impact written materials for a range of audiences, and identifying strategic partnerships to strengthen and scale pathways. Additionally, the Project Officer will support the coordination and logistics of stakeholder engagements—including convenings, capacity-building activities, and policy dialogues—with actors across sectors. Internally, the role will support project planning and execution, track timelines and deliverables, and collaborate with colleagues to develop tools, frameworks, and resources that enhance Pathways International’s operational effectiveness and policy influence in Colombia. Key Responsibilities: Policy and Strategic Support - Provide high-quality research, analysis, and written materials to support the Country Lead in Colombia. - Draft briefing notes, policy memos, concept notes, draft reports, proposals, speaking points, and other written products for internal/external use. - Contribute to the development of organizational strategy in Colombia by supporting the identification of key stakeholders, alliances, and opportunities to strengthen or create new pathways. - Track and analyze emerging policy trends and stakeholder positions related to the international protection framework, complementary pathways or labor mobility, - Contribute to the inclusion of Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) and intersectionality focus on project activities. - Contribute to the implementation of the Monitoring and Evaluation Plan. Partnership and Stakeholder Support and Logistics - Support the coordination and execution of engagements, including convenings, workshops, events, meetings, capacity-building sessions, and speaking opportunities involving government, civil society, and private sector actors. - Collaborate with team members to develop engagement strategies, prepare agendas, organize logistics, schedule meetings, and ensure accurate documentation through minutes and follow-up communications. - Contribute to the development of training materials and tools to strengthen the capacity of key stakeholders and partners. - Maintain consistent, professional, and discreet communication with partners, exercising sound judgment and fostering strong, trust-based relationships. Project Delivery and Internal Coordination - Contribute to the planning and delivery of Pathways International Colombia projects. - Liaise and collaborate with team members to advance special projects around labour and protection pathways, including the development of resources, materials, and tools to share knowledge and advance programmatic goals. - Support the development of tools, frameworks, and resources that help Pathways International and its partners advance their objectives. - Manage timelines, deliverables, and coordination for key files, in collaboration with team members across time zones and workstreams. - Maintains appropriate records of materials, meeting/workshop notes, stakeholder contact information, processes, etc. - Undertakes other duties assigned by the Country Lead Colombia as required. About You – Who are we looking for? Required Qualifications: - A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as public policy, political science,international affairs, law, or development studies. - Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience, ideally in international cooperation, stakeholder engagement, or strategy development. - Demonstrated knowledge of one or more relevant domains, including forced displacement, socio-economic integration of migrants, labour mobility, migration governance, and complementary pathways. - Strong verbal and writing skills in English and Spanish, with demonstrated experience drafting reports, materials and publications. - Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize information and distill complex ideas clearly and concisely. - Experience supporting or engaging with multistakeholder partnerships, including governments, civil society organizations, and international institutions. - Detail-oriented self-starter with highly developed organizational skills, including project coordination, information management, and scheduling. - Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively. - Comfortable working independently or as part of a team; ability to understand the balance between substantive policy support and behind-the-scenes coordination to make strategies and partnerships succeed. - Professionalism, discretion, and interpersonal judgment when working with external stakeholders. - Fluency in English and Spanish - Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, MS Teams, SharePoint, and familiarity with AI-enabled tools (e.g., ChatGPT or similar platforms). Desirable Qualifications: - Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced, and remote-first environments, particularly within globally distributed and multicultural teams. - Graphic or document design skills (e.g., PowerPoint layout, brief formatting) are an asset Location - This is a remote position to be based in Bogotá.
