Job Description: - Responsible for developing design and preparing procurement packages in support of INL Programs’ infrastructure projects. Coordinates with the INL support team to ensure infrastructure design meet technical specifications. - Provides infrastructure projects contractor technical oversight. The oversight includes coordinating with the facilities maintenance personnel the Master Electrician/Electronics Technician, and other specialists to ensure the contractor is meeting specified requirements. - Provides site activation support at locations throughout Colombia. Participates in sight activation meetings and pre-deployment site visits. Provides site activation design support as required. - Position entails regular travel to Forward Operating Locations (FOLs), often in austere, high-threat regions of the country, with limited support facilities - Duties require the employee to often work outdoors. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION**: - The person filling this position must have as minimum a degree as Architect and is registered and licensed in the host country. - **LANGUAGE LEVEL**: - Spanish level IV: Fluent - English level III: Good working knowledge - **EXPERIENCE**: - Must have at least 10 years of experience in the architectural field. - The Architect must have at least four years of experience with U.S. government infrastructure projects preparation. - **KNOWLEDGE OF**: - Standards, procedures, practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the installation, repair, and maintenance of temporary and permanent facilities - Safe use, handling, and storage of common chemical compounds used in facilities maintenance - Working at heights as defined by Colombian law - Colombian government and industry environmental standards - Colombian government and industry safety standards, regulations, and guidelines of the trade. - The care and use of office equipment utilized in carrying out assigned duties. - Prioritizing and working effectively in multiple tasks and projects in a high-stress environment. - The use of desktop computer software (AUTOCAD). - **ABILITY TO**: - Understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English and Spanish languages. - Present formal oral and written briefings in English and Spanish. - Read and understand technical schematics. - Work cooperatively with other US Government and Colombian military and National Police counterparts. - Productively monitor a diverse variety of people working under harsh field condition. - Must have the ability to harmoniously coordinate work activities with team leaders and other coworkers - **TRAINING**: - Incumbent should have previous training on basic duties, such as construction design, projects and architectural research, as well as a basic technical understanding of structures and construction.
