Requirements Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university Eligible for appropriate Virginia Department of Education certification Reports to Director of Special Education Essential Job Functions Provides school personnel with general knowledge regarding psychological services Assists in establishing and implementing procedural requirements for the assessment, eligibility, and placement of special education students Administers individual psychodiagnostic techniques for the assessment of intelligence, personality, aptitude, achievement, and perception Evaluates and identifies students who have learning, social, and/or emotional problems which are adversely affecting their education Observes students in the classroom as needed for assessment, consultation, or other psychoeducational services Prepares and presents reports on psychological evaluations for the eligibility committee Serves as a member of the Special Education Eligibility Committee Collaborates with teachers and school leaders to implement universal, targeted, and intensive academic and behavioral support programs using evidence-based practices Interprets test results to parents and teachers as appropriate Facilitates collaboration and coordination between school and community providers to ensure access to wraparound supports for students with the most significant needs Provides counseling for individual students as specified in the individualized education plan (IEP) and assigned by the Director of Special Education Participates in child study and/or IEP meetings Orders supplies and equipment needed for psychological services Assists with communication between residential schools, treatment facilities, or mental health agencies for students receiving such services Attends conferences/workshops related to assigned responsibilities Completes Medicaid billing for psychological services provided Delivers professional development to school staff and families Designs, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive range of interventions for students at risk for academic, social-emotional, or mental and behavioral health concerns Provides mental and behavioral health services for individual students and groups of students Conducts functional behavioral assessments and assists in the development of behavior plans Works collaboratively with teachers in delivering effective differentiation strategies for students with diverse needs #J-18808-Ljbffr
