edu/human-resources/online applications. GERNERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs all duties and responsibilities associated with the preparation, generation and distribution of the college’s payroll. Payroll consists of approximately 200 employees (salary and hourly) as well as college work study and tutor programs

QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree or comparable experience: Accounting, Finance, Business (BS preferred)2 years of payroll experience

Basic knowledge of financial terms and principles

Basic knowledge of MS Excel and Word

Maintains confidentiality of payroll & personnel information

Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks

General knowledge of various employment laws and practices

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Process and close periodic payrolls. Reconciles payroll prior to transmission & validate confirmed report

Ensures the timely payroll reporting of 941 payroll deposits and quarterly 941 tax reports

Directs premium reconciliation on all deductions, contributions, monthly statements & reports

Ensures compliance with all payment remittances to ERS, ORP, TRS. (Experience in education system a plus).Submits payroll and benefit reports to external agencies as requested

Enters leave accrual and audits employee leave benefit use

Works closely with human resources and business services to process hiring, leave, terminations and other employment-related issues

Supervises enrollment of all benefit eligible employees in State’s group insurance programs

Monitors and administers workers’ compensation

Process athletic student injury reports and provider claims with our insurance and accounts payable departments

Maintain records of current, new & disposed inventory for college

Serves as back up to accounts payables, account receivables and human resources
