We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to join our team at ScotiaTech, Scotiabank's innovative technology hub in Bogota. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing Global Engineering for Operations & Functions – Scotiabank Technology ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. Purpose The purpose of this role is to champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. This involves reviewing requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback. Additionally, the role requires creating and implementing detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, while being cost-effective. - Monitor debugging process results and define and execute corrective actions. - Track quality assurance metrics and create action plans accordingly. - Stay up to date with new testing tools and strategies. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and oversee Global Engineering for Operations & Functions – Scotiabank Technology. - Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. - Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback. - Create and implement detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans before product launches. - Monitor debugging process results and define and execute corrective actions. - Track quality assurance metrics and create action plans accordingly. - Stay up to date with new testing tools and strategies. Requirements: - A degree in computer science, IT Business/Management or engineering-related discipline is desirable. - 3+ years of demonstrable, practical hands-on experience as a Test Automation Engineer or Software developer. - Expertise in SQL, JAVA, Selenium, and other automated testing tools are critical to the automation journey. - Proven work experience in software test automation and quality assurance. - Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. - Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases. - Experience with writing simple and complex SQL queries for data validation. Desirable Qualifications: - Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing. - Hands-on experience with automated testing tools. - Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting. - Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process. - Experience with performance and/or security testing. - Demonstrable practical hands-on experience with Test Management tools like Jira-Xray, HP ALM, Mantis, etc. - Demonstrable practical hands working with project management tools like Jira.
