Purpose of the Position The Chief Marketing Officer will drive Cuna del Mar’s global brand and market positioning to accelerate growth across our portfolio. This role is not only about visibility — it is about directly enabling portfolio companies to increase awareness and understanding of all portfolio companies, increase impact, attract customers, expand into new markets, map key audiences, and find insights. The CMO will architect a clear marketing strategy, ensuring every initiative translates into measurable business results. Key Responsibilities Lead the global brand and marketing strategy for Cuna del Mar and its portfolio ventures, with a focus on driving commercial outcomes and market expansion. Craft, build, and lead Marketing Organization team across Cuna del Mar and portfolio companies. Oversee digital and content strategies designed to raise awareness and convert into advocacy through investor, consumer, and customer conversion funnels. Turn marketing strategies into measurable business results (increase net sales, increase market share). Represent Cuna del Mar at high-level industry events, positioning the fund and portfolio companies as leaders in regenerative aquaculture and climate-related innovation. Mentor and support marketing functions across portfolio companies, equipping them with scalable playbooks and performance frameworks. Manage and evaluate external agencies and partnerships to ensure ROI and strategic alignment. Implement performance tracking with clear KPIs, ensuring accountability and measurable results across campaigns and initiatives. Lead the development of thought leadership and media strategies that enhance credibility and competitive advantage. Key Challenges: First 12-24 Months Create the Cuna del Mar and portfolio companies' strategies, positioning statements, and narratives. Launch a new generation of storytelling assets and digital presence for Cuna del Mar. Continue to position portfolio companies as global leaders in their verticals through differentiated storytelling. Build internal capacity for brand stewardship across distributed teams. Elevate Cuna del Mar's public voice in blue finance, generative and regenerative food systems, and investment. Requirements and competences to work with us Education A degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related fields is preferred. Advanced studies such as an MBA, MPA, or equivalent in strategy, innovation, or sustainability are a plus. Candidates without formal degrees but with proven, high-impact leadership experience will be fully considered. Experience Minimum 10 years in senior marketing leadership roles with proven responsibility for brand positioning and commercial growth. Demonstrated success driving measurable outcomes (e.g., revenue growth, investor attraction, market share) through marketing. Experience managing multi-brand portfolios or business units across international markets. Expertise in building and scaling high-performing marketing teams. Proven ability to execute sophisticated digital and data-driven campaigns. Prior exposure to high-growth, mission-driven, or impact-focused organizations is preferred but not required. Knowledge and Skills Fully proficient in English and Spanish. Strong command of digital strategy, data analytics, content marketing, and brand development. Exceptional ability to simplify complex concepts into clear, actionable messaging for investors, customers, and global stakeholders. A network of relationships across relevant industries (food systems, biotech, sustainability, ocean/climate innovation) is an advantage.
