Purpose of the Role This position contributes to the overall success of the Global Technology and Enterprise Platforms (GTEP) Infrastructure Operations in Canada by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. All activities conducted must be in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. Key Accountabilities - Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. - Responsible for day-to-day operations of Windows Application Support and Software Upgrades. - Work with Operating System Support Teams, Business Owners, and Application Development Teams to provide the best support to our clients. - Collaborate on Windows Server Build and Server Decommission processes. - Coordinate planned change activities and implement them within the bank's standard change management process. - Handle incidents, problems, and major incidents for the Windows applications in your scope. - Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations related to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk. - Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment. Dimensions You will be part of a 13-member global team, including locations in Canada, Colombia, and India. Provide Windows Application support for several countries globally, including Canada, the U.S., Singapore, London, Malaysia, Ireland, etc. Support scope for 80 applications and over 200 application servers. Expected to provide support on weekends and after-hours escalation on-calls. The GTEP – Infrastructure Operations team provides technology solutions and platforms supporting Global Banking & Markets (GBM), Global Risk Management (GRM), as well as Canadian & International Banking. Requirements - Post-secondary education in an Information Technology stream or equivalent. - 1.5+ years of technical working experience with supporting 24x7 IT systems in multi-platform, multi-site, mission-critical environments. - Strong communicator (verbal/written). - 1.5+ years of technical working knowledge of Trading Application Support. - 1.5+ years of hands-on experience with Windows Operating System Server Support and Application Support. - Depth knowledge and experience with any ticketing system. - Solid organizational and time management skills. - Adept at working independently on projects and duties without constant supervision. - Working experience with virtual servers (VMWARE/Clouds). - Working experience with scripting and automation tools would be an asset (Powershell and Batch scripting).
