The Offer Flexible working options Opportunity to make a positive impact Great work culture Great benefits The Job The Open Wing Alliance (OWA), a program of The Humane League, is a global coalition of approximately 90 animal protection organizations across 70+ countries united in a common goal: to end the abuse of chickens worldwide. For the past several years, we have focused our efforts on eliminating battery cages by securing cage-free policies from major retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers. OWA groups share tactics and resources to secure as many wins for animals as possible, specializing in institutional campaigning that can be tailored to our members’ unique circumstances and challenges. As the OWA Latin America Corporate Strategy Lead, you will serve as a key subject matter expert on corporate campaigning and corporate outreach for the OWA in Latin America. You’ll be responsible for building relationships with OWA member groups and providing advice, coaching, and training in order to develop campaign knowledge and skills across the animal protection movement in the region. We want you because you are an experienced campaigner and strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills. You are excited about collaborating with organizations across Latin America to maximize impact for animals, and you have a deep determination to remove the worst forms of animal suffering from companies’ supply chains. This position reports to the Sr. OWA Latin America Manager. This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires domestic and international travel, equivalent to 6-10 trips per year, and requires a valid, up-to-date passport. To enable collaboration with other global team members, you may be required to work occasional hours outside of 9am - 5pm, depending on your time zone. Essential Job Duties: Provide OWA member groups in Latin America with strategic guidance and direction for regional corporate campaign strategies, and collaborate with groups to troubleshoot issues. Co-create strategies with OWA groups and serve as a coach, building their independence over time. Support groups in adapting campaign tactics to different local and regional contexts in order to secure cage-free commitments from companies. Lead in-person and virtual trainings for OWA groups on corporate campaigning and corporate outreach. Develop and implement personalized support plans and trainings for OWA groups. Build strong relationships and trust with OWA groups, alongside a reputation as a sharp strategic thinker and strategist. Develop resources and training materials in order to build resilience, empowerment, and autonomy in the OWA. In addition to the above essential job duties, other duties may be assigned as business needs arise. These may include non-essential, marginal job duties. The Profile You have previous experience with corporate pressure campaigns and/or corporate negotiations. Experience developing campaign strategy as well as carrying out specific functions related to a campaign's success You have strong strategic thinking and problem solving skills, and are proactive, take initiative, and adaptable You have strong verbal and written communication skills and are able to collaborate well with others You are a strong networker & relationship builder You are willing to undertake 0-30% travel.
